The Michigan Wildlife Council (MWC) will meet from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Monday, April 25, at the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center, 1801 Atwater Street, Detroit.
Agenda items include a financial report and a presentation by Gϋd Marketing, the firm working on the promotional media campaign to inform the general public about the benefits of hunting, fishing and trapping in Michigan. Beginning at 1:15 p.m., the firm will present the year-two media plan.
Following the Gϋd Marketing presentation, the MWC will receive public comments beginning at 2:15 p.m. Persons wishing to address the council during that time may register with Kathy McGonagle, assistant to the Michigan Wildlife Council, by either calling 517-284-6056 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Each individual will be limited to three minutes. Registration also will be available during the meeting.
The Michigan Wildlife Council is a nine-member public body established by Public Act 246 of 2013. Members are appointed by the governor and subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. Created by the Legislature to direct the expenditures of the Michigan Wildlife Management Public Education Fund, the council will work in conjunction with Gϋd Marketing to promote the essential role that sportsmen and sportswomen play in furthering wildlife conservation and to provide education about hunting, fishing and taking of game.
