The Michigan Wildlife Council (MWC) will meet from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, at Jay’s Sporting Goods, 1151 S. Otsego Avenue, Gaylord.

A discussion will be held regarding the council’s website, and the board will receive public comments beginning at 10:45 a.m. Individuals wishing to address the council during that time may register with Kathy McGonagle, assistant to the MWC, by either calling 517-284-6056 or emailing Each person will be limited to three minutes. Registration for public comment also will be available during the meeting.

The Michigan Wildlife Council is a nine-member public body established by Public Act 246 of 2013. Members are appointed by the governor and subject to the advise and consent of the Senate. Created by the Legislature to direct the expenditures of the Michigan Wildlife Management Public Education Fund, the council works in conjunction with Güd Marketing to promote the essential role sportsmen and sportswomen play in furthering wildlife conservation and to provide education about hunting, fishing and taking of game.
